A 70 lbs bag would be pretty heavy -- can you at least put it on your home scale and get a general idea of the weight? As for AF, you might have to consider their policies if upon your return your first leg is on AF and you have to check in at an AF counter. I haven't flown AF in years so IDK if that would impact you, but you might check it out to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
