But I have a longish domestic/international trip coming up and figured using a checked bag makes sense (extra room for purchases, etc.).
Anyway, after packing it up, it feels pretty darn heavy. I can still pick it up with one hand, but I have no idea what that works out to.
I know medallions get 2 free checked bags up to 70lb each.
My question is this: can that also mean ONE checked bag up to 140lb?
I highly doubt my bag weighs that much, but for the return it might weigh 80-90lb.
Also, one segment of my international portion is on Air France economy. The first leg will be DL business class. I assume my bag will be checked all the way through. So can I ignore Air France checked baggage rules?
No. You will be charged if any single bag is over 70lbs.
DL won't take bags over 100lbs as checked baggage.
I check bags all the time for work and we check bags right up to the 70lb limit.
