Apologies if you felt I was less than friendly. However, I got the impression that you didn't read or understand the OP's problem since your advice didn't really address it.

T&Cs for a 2-4-1 can be found here. What the OP did is a common strategy for using a 2-4-1, namely booking the outbound flights as soon as they are released, and adding the inbound flights when they get relased at a later date.
