Online tickets for Schiphol - Rotterdam using IC Direct
Hi everyone,
I have been trying unsuccessfully to purchase etickets for the intercity direct service (former FYRA) between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam. Because this service uses the high speed line (same line as the Thalys) it requires a 3 euro supplement.
The train ticket proper can be bought at the belgium rail website (SNCB Europe). However, SNCB does not sell the supplement. Same thing for rail europe. They will sell me the ticket but not the supplement.
The only place where you can buy the supplement in advance is at NS.NL, the dutch railway website. However, this requires a Dutch bank account number. The NS.NL website is a pain and very unfriendly to international travelers. The other option is the ticket office at Schiphol where the lines can be big.
Has anyone found a way around to pay the 3 euro supplement online?
Thanks!
