I'm a bit nostalgic for the JW, it was my fave when I knew the management 5-10 years ago. But they all transferred out and as the rates went up and options opened up I haven't been back. I also used to be able to get the Thai based Marriot Gold club with all the coupons and vouchers. That was a good deal....

Back then I had no status, now I'm a Plat. I've got 6 nights booked at JW, deluxe w/ brk off the Marriot website. My alternative is the Ren for 35% less, inc Brk @ Flavors (I actually prefer Flavors to the Cafe at the JW for brk. I prefer either to the 57. I enjoy 2 hr nibbles and I then skip lunch)

The question is, as a Plat, the odds to be upgraded to Club floor at JW? Some on this thread say yes, most say no. I always have at the Ren and in addition I like the 30% off F&B they offer when I want a full dinner. I like their Italian place.

If the odds at the JW are against me I'll save the 15k bht and spend it on better wine.
