It just takes a 7-10 days to get the new card.
Note that this does not necessarily protect you from being charged again because the card networks have programs in place to allow recurring payments like these from some merchants to follow you to your new account number. For example:
Visa Account Updater and
MasterCard Automatic Billing Updater.
