The beauty of Costco right now with Amex is that they accept any Amex CC and not just the Costco Amex. If Costco moved to Discover, that would totally blow because I don't have any Discover cards nor do I seek to get one. They are not widely accepted and certainly don't have any CCs worth getting. Moving to Visa would be a good move if they were forced to do so.
