FWIW, think wrong. The L-1011s (and DC-10s) were originally designed for 8 abreast although most airlines ended up using them 9 abreast. 11 abreast is pushing is a bit far.
However, the 747 was designed for 9 abreast although airlines quickly moved to 10 abreast and I believe JL and NH uses 11 abreast for domestic Japan flights.
