AY or QR to PVG (in J)?
Hi All,
I have to go to Shanghai at shortish notice, so am looking at sensible routes that won't break the bank. BA and CX both want over £6k for the dates I need (with a bit of flexibility), so have looked at something different.
QR and AY both come in around the £2.2k mark, so they look the best bet.
Any advice?
QR - not flown them before, and I can get A380 or A319 for the LHR-DOH routing. (Not been on a 380 before, but have been on the LCY-JFK). DOH to PVG is a 777, I think.
Trouble is, the layovers in Doha are quite long, and this route splits the flight into 2 7 hour-ish legs (minimal rest).
AY has an A330 HEL-PVG, which I think has slopey beds, but at least it's a proper timing for an overnight flight to get some rest as I will be working on arrival (Return is a day flight).
I'm not too fussed about TPs - due to an injury, surgery and recovery, I haven't flown for a couple of years and have soft-landed to silver until March, but I doubt I'll hit enough TPs to renew it before then anyway.
Or should I do something different?
(Sorry, I know it's not strictly a BA thing, although someone may be able to tempt me to do an Ex-EU on BA via HKG on the A380)

Reason: Accidentally invented a new airframe - A3380
