I'm also new to the game, but you shouldn't just rush out and do something because it worked for someone else......Read the boards, get informed, and go out and try it. If you can't afford to not unload a gift card, then MS isn't really for you.
I was using amazon payments for a long time. They cancelled that.. I stalled and had to make my spend minimum. I read you could liquidate them at ATMs/Cash back and figured that would work.
Now i think im getting what they are saying about this board.. all criticism and no help.
