This was much simpler with United Club membership where I could just tell agents to go to GG Checkpoint 58 or whatever line it was where it specifically stated they must gave Club members a gate pass.
YMMV but I have had success in SFO and ORD (ORD this past Thursday meeting family on a delayed inbound.)
