Regarding upgrades at these two properties:

The JWM is stingy with upgrades - out of 150+ nights in the past ten years, only 10 of them were spent in an upgraded suite.

The Renaissance doesn't really have suites (only one Royal or Presidential Suite) but larger rooms called Renaissance Suites and Executive Suites. We were upgraded on every one of the 30+ nights we've spent there.
