There are no free changes for anyone. (if you get a free change it is being done as a courtesy but not the official rule). There is free same-day standby in YVR/YEG/YYC triangle, between YYZ/YUL and YYZ/YOW (but not YUL/YOW), and YYZ/EWR/LGA/JFK on Flex fares for anyone.

Same day change fee would apply to the entire route assuming its on one fare basis.
