Did it ever occur to you that any volume of material, whether it be a knife or an explosive, can be hidden elsewhere on or in a person? No, of course it didn't. Sneakers get you screened just as quickly as boots. If the airlines had their way, and believe me I wish they did, the abomination that is the TSA would have never been created.
