I am afraid you are wrong about this. Ba are happy with 12 a380 and will not be converting any of their options to further orders.
Yes - I sort of had that impression though I think it's odd as there will be no new runway for at least 10 years and the A380 can offer expansion.
Interestingly most airlines are shying away from A380's and the forward order book for Airbus is weak. I've read comments that Airbus will likely never recoup the investment. That might mean A380's on the cheap just to keep production going and anything is possible is the price is right...
HNL - at 7,300nm this is a mega flight with the mother of all jet lag. Crew costs high as will need 4 person flight team like SIN etc and crew down time probably minimum 2 nights stay. It's a long thin route sure but I think more leisure focussed - I just don't see it stacking up. For routes that long either Jakarta or Santiago de Chile have stronger cases in my view even though HNL is one of the largest US cities.....
