I have heard about these merchadisers from ISM before. However, in Sep I took CX420 on a Fri and CX421 on the following Wed myself and the loading were both super light. Only 7 pax outbound and 9 pax inbound and I was the only DM onboard in J.

Number of DM + GOs on a flight really depends on the routes. Shorthaul I am sure PVG/SHA/SIN would easily be the top 3 elite heavy routes and longhaul probably LHR/JFK. I flew with KA to SHA last year (A330) and the ISM told me half of the plane are SL/GO/DM...
