In Detroit for International flights, I've seen them split carousels... SP bags on one, everything else on a completely different carousel. I've seen this happen in Atlanta too on occasion and it seems like they do it in SLC too. Usually the SP bags are coming out at the same time as everything else, so I have no complaints there.
