"Closed by xxx" is irrelevant to your credit score. It happens all the time for normal reasons such as your account number changing, closing dormant accounts, Visa to MC switches, etc. I do not believe there is any flag that a bank can put on your credit report that says "bad bad MSer - nobody extend credit to this guy". Of course your bank probably has internal records that may prevent you from getting more credit from them. I got shut down by Barclays in 2009 and am still black listed. My last application never even made it to a credit pull - their internal database stopped it immediately.
