True. Many cars do have these calculations at least. Helps you get pretty close. Although:

I'm now thinking it's probably a non-US spec thing? I haven't rented a car outside the US. Why it should continue to be a non-US spec item I'm not sure. Although the fuel still doesn't cost as much outright here as in many other countries, the price has risen enough in proportion from time to time to make people much more conscious of mpg and fuel usage.
