I've been sold to TD. I just got the renewal fees on my account. I called to cancel, unless they had something to offer, and I've been answered that when one customer cancels, two others are coming in. It's not the first time I've been astonished by Visa TD reps arrogance.
Pretty much had the same experience.
Them: "Why do you want to cancel"
Me: "CIBC is offering me a year free and 25,000 miles to go back to the card I chose in the first place, you're offering me a $120 annual fee and no bonus miles"
Them: "That's too bad sir. You won't believe how many customers are coming over to us from CIBC"
Me: "Easy to say when you buy their accounts and don't give them a choice to stay"
Them "Your card has been cancelled sir. Have a good day".
