I'm a newby to this site, but not a newby to air travel. This thread should be required reading before any "status" is granted to a frequent flyer. Hilarious and sad at once. It has changed my thinking about what people are thinking inside the close confines of forced socialization in a flying tube. These stories increase awareness of others, as well as awareness of self. Keep them coming!

I think Delta's announcements of thanks at the beginning of every flight serves to fuel the self importance of people who are new to their status level. I wish they would do away with those announcements, and simply thank those who concentrate their flight choices on Delta by providing the perks people value in the Medallion program.
