I rented from hertz at DCA last week and it was a nightmare. Gold reservation wasn't ready, it took half an hour to find a car, they provided a broken car seat (rare trip with family in tow) and then claimed the Amex platinum card was declined, despite immediate confirmation of transaction via ios app. I truly believe there may be a credit card skimming operation underway there. It's the only explanation for multiple swipes and a claim of a card being declined. The attitude of the workers there is horrible. It's difficult to believe this is a corporate location.
