Agreed. Trip insurance is rarely worth the added cost when you really do the math if you travel with any frequency. In 15 years i've had maybe 3 IROPS situations that cost money out of my pocket out of literally hundreds of trips. Insuring each of these trips would have cost at least 10 times more then then those 3 times i was out of pocket. They wouldn't offer trip insurance if the net payout on the polices was more then they were taking in for the cost of them.
Agree too, yet Often1and many others always throw it out as the "savior" for way too many situations. At least here, he/she admitted it's really not a viable option.
They make it incredibly hard to file a claim, and there are all kinds of stipulations. Not the "all of the above" panacea it is claimed to be.
Wish it would stop being thrown in the face of so many posters on FT.
