I have made many award reservations for family members over the years in their names using my points and they have always received my Diamond benefits up to now. I tell them not to expect them, but obviously they are very happy when they do, especially when the hotel has an Executive Lounge. I always have to ring Hhonors to make the booking in their name as the website won't let you change the member's name on the reservation. The points are deducted immediately, but the reservation doesn't show up in my account as a future booking.
