Apologies - I know I've seen threads on this, but couldn't find any while searching. (Mods - please merge if there's an existing one).

I'm flying SEA-EWR-LHR and have a 16 hr layover in EWR. At SEA, they refused to check my bags through. This kind of ruins my plans to go into the city tomorrow.

Does anyone know if I try to check in my bags at 8 am for a 10 pm flight if it will work? Any other options? Could I just let baggage services hold the bag and go get it around 7 pm? (I know - not exactly the brightest idea in the world).

Other thoughts or ideas?
