My complaint with the early on-ground ordering is that it's sometimes completed before I even board. Twice this year I missed out on my first choice in BusinessFirst due to tight connections and the meal orders haven already been taken. Both flights were ex-EWR (with pmCO crews). There's no sense in saying GS/1K meal choices are prioritized if orders are taken before all GS/1Ks are onboard (unless FAs ask for a passenger's top two choices and then prioritize amongst themselves after all orders are taken - which seems to be more of a pmUA practice).

easily solved if they let passengers pre-order what they want to eat on the plane. other European/Asian airlines can do it, not sure why UA can't do it.
