What cars have a fuel used counter? I have yet to encounter one. I think he is referring to the average MPG tracker which many cars do have.
If you were to reset that and the trip odometer before you drive off the lot, you should be able to compute a fuel consumed estimate by taking the trip odometer reading and dividing it by the average MPG reading.
