Since the OP was quoted rates in Chilean pesos (CLP), I'm guessing that he may be renting from Budget in Chile, where Budget's insurance offerings might be very different from those in the U.S.
To the OP: How will you be paying for the rental? Certain credit cards provide
free CDW coverage for rentals charged to the card. Does yours?
