Part of what was most infuriating to me was that they did this using my Hhonors co-branded card that they know full well does NOT charge a forex fee!!!
No, I couldn't agree with you more. When a Hilton-family property does it, it's a fundamentally dishonest screw-the-visitors practice and something Hilton corporate ought to police. But this is a company that can't seem to require its runamuck franchise operators to do hardly anything (cf. HHonors promo opt-outs) so I doubt they'd be able to exert much leverage.
