Are you sure it's Inbox? I just updated as well, and although I've requested Inbox, I haven't received formal notification that I have access yet. What I downloaded (and suspect you downloaded) was the newest GMail client, not Inbox; Inbox is a separate app.
The latest GMail client is considerably different from the previous version. I'm not crazy about the compose button either, but I do appreciate being able to integrate my non-GMail accounts.
I just wish GMail supported Bluetooth MAP so I could access email through my car's Office feature. I apparently need to have the default HTC email client installed (and configured to access my GMail accounts) for that feature to work.
