Obviously, the credit card slip (which the OP most likely was asked to sign) was not in EUR but was in USD. The problem with the DCC scam is that people do not notice that the slip/receipt is in their own currency rather than the foreign currency of the hotel.

The cc company can do nothing; you need to contact the hotel and ask them refund and make a new charge in the correct currency. Good luck with that...
