Ouch.

I would never count on Amtrak to get me somewhere on time. There are just too many systemwide delays. Unfortunately, if Amtrak is your only way, you likely need to go the day before (really) if you really have to be there.

I agree with the poster who said "go to the airport anyway" as it is possible you might have been accommodated if you described the reason.

Really feel bad for you, wish it hadn't happened.
