ZIP'sstatus is exactly like that of SATURN within GM. It was set up as a new operation, wholly owned by GM, but with a new management group, separate union agreements, etc. It had a different marketing structure outside the normal GM showrooms and dealerships. GM owns 100% of GM shares, exactly as AC owns 100% of ZIP's shares.

DELTA HOTELS is a fully owned subsidiary of FAIRMONT, with a separate management team and operating HQ and agreements with properties. However, employees of DELTA may stay at FAIRMONT properties and vice versa using their staff benefits. Once again, exactly as employees of ZIP may do with their benefits on AC mainline.
