I did manage to get the email for the free night voucher from Best Western. However, I am not going to be able to use it for myself?

Does anyone know if I can book for a friend using this free night voucher?

If not, do the front desks usually ask for the ID and credit card of the person who is checking in or would the "2nd guest" be able to check in by himself?
