My wife flew from BHX last week, and once she had done OLCI called Emirates to try to upgrade, but it appears to ONLY be available at the airport. Fortunately we got to the airport 3 hours before the flight and there was inventory available so she could use the miles to upgrade at that point.
It may be that the inventory wasn't released in advance rather than it being a different interpretation of the rule.
According to Customer Services, they said it would allow you to do it online. There is no way for me to check until the day OLCI opens though. For availability expert flyer says that there are 7 seats open in D bucket.
Would anyone on a saver ticket be able to try and see if they can upgrade using OLCI?
