Do you think a Gold with MR,HH or SPG is gonna get the royal treatment? thats like IHGs Plat. btw get the Chase IHG MC CC and bingo you are a Plat

If a person isnt at the highest level (and even then it may be worthless) simply dont expect qanything beyond what you book. Its no different then the airlines unless you have the top level forgetaboutit you will get zilch.

The 1 difference with the Hotels is if you stay enough nights at 1 particular hotel most likely in due time you will get some beenies not based on status but based on $$ dropped there
I am a LT Plat with MR and a Hyatt Diamond, who qualified for a 2015 renewal during 2Q '14. I wanted to see if IHG offered anything better than what I already had, and the answer is a resounding NO. In fact, I also have Gold status with Carlson, and that provides superior value when compared to IHG Plat.
