I am only offering my opinion. But in retort, how can Hertz or any other car rental company offer you unlimited mileage on your rental and then punish you for exceeding a hidden mileage limit? If it were a court case Hertz would lose big time for not stating a specific mileage limit.
I am not aware of the experiences of others. Nor can I verify the truth in their statements. I can only be sure of my own experiences.
