I have a few questions since you mention travel between Jordan/Egypt and Israel. Is there charter helicopter/charter flight service between Egypt and Israel or Jordan and Israel, and if so, is one required to go through the same security lottery pick?
Amman to Tel Aviv or Haifa over land takes how long and is it safe by road? Same question for Cairo to Tel Aviv or Haifa or Eilat.</font>
CAI is quite a ways, about an eleven hour bus ride, from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. The safety of this route varies, since the usual path takes you through the Rafah checkpoint in Gaza. Usually it's fine, but sometimes the Army closes the border crossing when there are security threats.
AMM is a much shorter ride to Israel, and goes over safer roads, but sometimes the waits at customs approach three hours. There are only three places to cross, one down by Eilat (forget the name) and the King Hussein and Allenby bridges up north.
