I'm not saying the agent was right, but I also don't understand this new phenomenon of people feeling they have to record everything online and in public, and often without the recorded party's knowledge.
Two thoughts:
1. While not illegal, if I saw someone taking a picture of me, I'd be pretty creeped out. Who knows what malicious intent they might have?
2. If I just had a negative interaction with someone, where I felt I was in the right (as this GA likely did), I would not react well to the other party taking my picture for what I can only assume would be for some misguided "revenge" that I may be unable to defend against.
It sounds like the GA was wrong in this case, but sometimes it helps to put yourself in the other person's place.
Right or wrong, legal or illegal, doesn't matter. There are better ways to handle a situation like this than a passive-aggressive photo op.
