The rate of attrition varies by airport of course. Those working at larger airports with tens of thousands of daily passengers (LAX) are paid the same rate as those at smaller airports with passengers in the 1-2000 daily passengers (CAE). That said, it is no surprise that many quit at some airports and not so many at others. The background checks were poorly executed and are weeding out those "undesireables." The economy is slowly turning around and others are finding jobs that are more rewarding and or less stressful. To tout these numbers as an example of why the TSA needs to be disbanded, something that is NOT going to happen, is a stretch, and Spiff has some very long arms indeed.
