Hm, test drove this in Georgia on some cheap hostels in August and got cashback almost immediately. I started to flesh out my RTW trip for next year and have about 1/2 of April and May booked. Already got cashback (and paid via paypal) for some stays next April that required you to pay 1st night. The hostels in Georgia I paid at the homestay, but there was no problem on TCB. All the ones for next year are either listed as pending or I've already cashed out.

Hotelwiz.com is $15 on tcb, if that's useful to anyone. I find booking.com best for the cheapo-ist hostels and guesthouses I usually stay at :P
