I had AA advantage for 1 year from April 13 to May 2014 and closed it (18 months since last app), applied to 50K MC AA offer today, got declined, the rep on reconsideration line said it is because I just got a 50 K offer last year and closed the card before paying the annual fee and they are trying to prevent people from doing it.
