Uh, it is probably not too late to call them back and say "I am happy to be bumped from this flight, please rebook me on the Virgin Atlantic 8:15 a.m. JFK-LHR or the British Airways 8:30 a.m. JFK-LHR and please give me large compensation and/or book me in business class". Plenty of premium-cabin space on the Virgin Atlantic flight tomorrow. They will do unusual things when they need you.

Or does your work schedule really need you to fly out of EWR?!?
