What exactly does OP want? Bad weather is bad weather. Perhaps his inbound could have attempted a landing and made it safely. Perhaps it would have crashed. Most would prefer the safer alternatives.

OP got himself a hotel. Smart move. It's covered by insurance. But, he doesn't mention that until he's questioned about it on FT.

Once on the ground the next available flight involved an inconvenient and delayed reroute. Again, maybe somebody else should have been kicked off to make space for OP.
