Disagree, though, that this thread should be consolidated into the 'family' thread. Part of the reason I bumped this thread on behalf of another FTer is he was trying to find out info on the property & the 'family' thread has over 3,000 posts. That's a lot to get through! One could do a search within the thread, which then brings up 3 pages (120 posts) re: WIQ over the years but not everyone knows that option exists.

Also, bdschobel mentioned last year that he was encouraging comparison posts (should I stay at County Hall or West India Quay) to go in the family threads and specific property reports to go in existing property threads or new ones created. Given how lousy FT search is, his thought was that it would make it easier for folk to find property threads.

Looking at the website, it says the exec lounge is open 24/7.

I've got some friends who have a flat out near Canary Wharf & they commute to Soho. I think all-in it takes them 45 minutes. They do like the proximity to London City airport for some of their trips to other parts of UK/Europe.

I vaguely remember someone saying a few years back that public transport doesn't start as early on Sunday mornings in that area, so if someone needs to get out to Heathrow for an early morning departure they may need to plan accordingly.

Cheers.

Not that many posts to go through if you go to the family thread and then do a search on a specific identifier -- e.g. Quay in this case, County Hall for another search, etc. True you will get double for the Grovesnor, but those who have that simple identifier will be laid bare and then one can read all or just some of the more recent posts that mention that property -- that is what I do and it significantly cuts down on the clutter, while centralizing a specific thread to find things about many London properties.

In addition, if contemplating several of the London properties, then just do repeated searches on that one thread of different identifiers. Plenty of information can be ferreted out on same without having many threads again multiplying all over the forum on specific hotels.

This thread ought to be consolidated.
