If I want a LON-NYC return in Club, the fees are £544. If I price both these legs separately, going out the charges are £368, coming back is £274 = £642.
Ideally I'd like to do an open jaw but not if it's gonna cost £100 extra. Are the fees static for every East Coast city or are there variations?
ex-UK carrier charges are lower than ex-US carrier charges.
So LHR-NYC return is cheaper than LHR-NYC one way plus NYC-LHR one way as you've found.
If you book as an open jaw ex-UK you will be charged the ex-UK (lower) carrier charges.
If you're using a 241 there is no way to minimise the carrier charges. Starting from JER will eliminate APD.
