Help - UA Seatmap and Aircraft Type don't match all of a sudden!
Hi everyone,
I am currently booked on UA 42 EWR-LHR this coming Tuesday (11/4/14). When I booked this flight, and for the last few weeks, the aircraft has been showing as a 764, and accordingly I've been in E+ in 23L (Window Seat).
All of a sudden this evening, the Seatmap showing on United.com (full website and App) for this flight is an internationally configured 752 - an aircraft which is frequently used on this route and flight, but was not scheduled to operate on this particular date. I have all of a sudden been moved to 23F, which on a 752 is not an E+ seat! There is an actual tail # assigned for this bird and everything, as though United had simply shifted down the aircraft to a much smaller plane (even though as a 764 it was a nearly-full flight).
Weirder still, the Seatmap describes the aircraft type I'm looking at as a 764, even though I'm clearly looking at a 752 Seatmap!
I called the Premier Desk, and they called the airport and reassured me that there is in fact a 764 operating this flight this Tues-Fri. However I'm worried that (a) if that's not correct, I'll be stuck in a non E+ seat and (b) if that is correct, the computer will leave me in my newly-assigned 23F, which is not a window. But right now I can't put myself back into a seat that doesn't currently exist on the seatmap, and neither can the Premier Desk!
Has anyone experienced this kind of litch before on UA? Any tips for addressing?
Thanks as always!
