A couple of my colleagues, Canadian Cits and Res, have Alaskan Visa's. This gives them Alaskan FF points, ugrade certs and a companion cert. I think the card cost is US$175. I applied for the same card, was accepted, then they lost the application, I lost interest in pursuing it.
If you fly the West Coast, Mexico, Hawaii, it is an awesome card and program, well worth pursuing. If interested, let me know, I will try and get contact info.
