Lightning strikes NZ plane during flight
Wellington - An Air New Zealand plane was struck by lightning on Wednesday and then removed from service for safety checks, disrupting the travel plans of scores of passengers.

Airline spokesperson Rosie Paul said the Boeing 737 airplane with 106 passengers and five crew was flying from Wellington to Auckland about midday when the lightning bolt struck.
