EZE airport does not close- I think that was just an example.

On a few occasions flying that route DL had an MX issue, but it was just DL, so things were handled quite well- Y pax to hotels or back home, BE pax re-routed through Santiago to ATL.

4 or 5 years it actually snowed at EZE, and all flights were delayed/cancelled for the day, including the DL flight my wife was on. Everyone was sent home or to hotels, but with all the airlines having the issue, hotels and ground transport were completely overwhelmed and things got pretty ugly.

I think operations at EZE just can't handle the disruption of several large int'l flights at the same time. Best recourse is to get to the Condor lounge, try to grab some sleep, food and a shower, and start over the next day...
